First interview

Dan Freeman of FUNZINE suggested going to
West Balkán where you can check out the AKANAK FESZTIVÁL from December 28-30, featuring traditional gypsy band Romano Drom and a French band called La Familia (who play ska and Latin rhythms). West Balkan will have a "Closing Party" on New Year's Eve before they tear the place down.

Second interview

Zsuzsa suggested a wonderful assortment of Hungarian musical artist at her workplace, Trafó House of Contemporary Arts, whose site has plenty of info in English. She also suggested going to Budapest's thermal baths (Szechényi or Gellért), the live music at A38 Ship and poking around the post modern Millenium cultural center (or "House of Future").

Third interview

Andras, my son says you should drink mulled wine (forralt bor) on Vörösmarty square, take a boat trip from Boráros square (about 1.5hrs; try something else, because these boats only run from May-September), hike up Gellért Hill for the view (or take a bus from Moricz Zsigmond körtér), go out for drinks at Szimpla Kért, look for jail bait at Morrison's II (near Szeraj Turkish Restaurant), take day trips to Szentendre (via the HÉV surburban railway from Batthyányi square) or to the ruins of a castle in the nice, slightly-less-touristy village of Zsámbek.
